Senility

Senility or "senile dementia" at one time was considered an inevitable effect of aging.
Now it is known, that it is a  physically based disease, and in fact it is not very common. It is a condition in which brain function, or certain aspects of brain function, decline to the point that mental disability results. Senility symptoms include: agitation, depression, forgetfulness, fearfulness, difficulty absorbing new information, and loss  of normal emotional responses. The disorder normally gets progressively worse and worse. Senility has other complications that may occur including injuries (due to falls), inadequate nutrition, constipation, and a variety of infections. Dementia can be caused by several diseases affecting brain function. It can also result from nutritional deficiency, especially if chronic, or long-term alcohol or drug use. A lot of people who are diagnosed as senile actually suffer from pseudo-dementia symptoms that mimic dementia but that are actually caused by one or more of these factors: depression, deafness, brain tumors, thyroid problems, liver problems, kidney problems, the use of certain drugs, or other disorders. A thorough medical and psychological examination by a professional, preferably a specialist in the field, is necessary for an accurate diagnosis.

Dementia is considered an incurable disorder. But, the proper diet and nutritional supplements can help.
