Anxiety disorders are common in our world today.
It affects people of all ages teenager, middle age, and older. It affects women about twice as much as men. But that maybe
because men are less likely to report a problem. Anxiety disorder can be either acute or chronic.
The
acute form is noticed as panic attacks. For many years, panic
attacks were thought to be a psychosomatic problem. Now, repeated
studies have indicated that this disorder has a real and physical
basis. It is now believed that attacks may occur by a
malfunction in brain chemistry. This causes
the release of norepinephrine which causes increases in pulse, blood
pressure, and breathing.
The chronic form is milder with a feeling of worry or
uneasiness. Headaches and chronic fatigue often occur with chronic anxiety. It is also possible for a
person to have occasional panic attacks.
